Reykjavik Sightseeing Tour

Reykjavik City

Reykjavík is the world’s most northerly capital, with more than one-third of Iceland’s population. Today Reykjavík is a modern city with a variety of restaurants, museums, galleries, and theaters. You can visit the most important sights of the city, including the Old Town, the Hofdi house, Harpa Conference Centre, Althingi, the House of Parliament, the city cathedral, Hallgrimskirkja church, Botanical Garden of Laugardalur, the “Pearl” (no entrance fees included in this tour) and many more iconic buildings and beautiful places.

The Hofdi House

This house is a historic place and a beautiful building! It’s where the famous meeting took place in 1986 between former US President Ronald Reagan and former USSR General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev.

Harpa Conference Centre

The Conference center opened in the spring of 2011 and is a popular attraction place for Iceland’s concerts and cultural events. It also has a great restaurant, in-house catering, and a conference center with meeting facilities.

Although the House of Parliament

The house of parliament was built in 1881 in the city center. Near to it, we will see the City Hall, which is located next to the pond Reykjavikurtjörn, which is a popular place among Icelanders to feed the ducks some bread.

Hallgrímskirkja Church

Hallgrímskirkja Church is Iceland’s tallest building or 74.5 meters (244 ft). It took more than 38 years to build the church and is Iceland’s best-known landmark. The church was designed and influenced by Iceland’s mountains, basalt, glaciers, and Gudjon Samuelsson; an architect state intended this magnificent structure. The church is named after one of Iceland’s most famous clergymen and poets, Hallgrimur Petursson.

The Pearl

The last location is Perlan Restaurant and Cafeteria. It was built on top of Reykjavik’s six water tanks and contained the hot water supply for Reykjavik city. On top of the building, you’ll be able to see 360° of the whole of Reykjavik and the surrounding area.
